Rainbow Springs Nature Park

What we do

Breathe deeply, and take in the native bush, ferns, trees and plants that grow and flower all around you as you wander through the tree lined pathways at Rainbow Springs Nature Park in Rotorua.  Enjoy the tranquillity of the crystal clear mineral water that flows tirelessly from the subterranean springs throughout the park. Marvel at the silent grace of the magnificent specimens of Rainbow, Brown and Tiger trout and feed them as they cruise the fern-fringed pools.  Hear the bustling bush wildlife, and meet the curious species of native birds on display.

Discover the conservation efforts undertaken at Rainbow Springs to ensure the longevity of our natives and learn what you can do to help.  See live kiwi foraging for food in a closely simulated natural environment.  Come back at night time to view them up close in an open-air enclosure under the stars. Gaze in awe at the astounding Redwoods and come face to face with our very own living dinosaur – the tuatara.

Bring the family and enjoy a picnic lunch on the Fairy Spring Lawn, surrounded by our gathering of sheep, donkeys, pigs, chickens, wallabies and ducks.

Take a look around and learn more about Rainbow Springs.  We are an award winning tourism attraction and offer a world class visitor experience.  We are committed to conservation and sustainability and while you’re at Rainbow Springs, you will no doubt take home many ideas on how you can help at home.
