Lord of the Rings Tour Highlights

- Mount Owen / Mount Olympus / Boulder Lake / Canaan Down / Harwood’s Hole
- Scenic flight outward and return
- Strange rock formations
- Dramatic landscapes
- Rarely visited by travellers on foot
The locations used in the Lord of The Rings trilogy have put the New Zealand landscape firmly on the map for filmgoers. But, that doesn’t mean they are easy to get to. Mount Owen itself is reached after two days on foot and an overnight stay in a hut. A significant part of their mystery is rooted in their very inaccessibility. You will be in the privileged position of not only being able to visit three of these locations – Mount Olympus, Mount Owen and The Boulder Lake – but also having a bird’s eye view of the surrounding natural beauty of these remote places.
Top of The South Tour Highlights

- Coffee and a beach walk – Awaroa Lodge
- Kahurangi National Park and Farewell Spit

Escape to the skies for a whole day of magnificent scenery; flying over native bush running down to striking coastlines, hovering in front of waterfalls and viewing inaccessible mountain lakes. Then, we’re in the air again along the Abel Tasman coastline to Separation Point, Takaka and up to Westhaven Retreat on its stunning West Coast peninsula at the foot of Farewell Spit Nature Reserve.
Food and Wine Tour Highlights

- Scenic tour over this fertile, wine-growing region
- Stops for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea
- Wine tastings
- Scenic return flight
This tour is a real treat for anyone who loves good food and appreciates fine wines, for which our region is famous the world over. The ingredient that makes the whole day even more special is being flown to each destination in the comfort and luxury of our four-person plus pilot Eurocopter 120B. We’ll take off from base at Motueka and fly over the productive fruit-growing area to the north, then over towards the spectacular Marlborough Sounds and the wine growing region around Blenheim. Seeing it from the air is the best way to appreciate its beauty. We touch down for morning tea then we are off again and heading for a wine tasting or guided wine tour where you’ll be taken through a tasting session of an award-winning selection of wines. Purchases can be made and we can take them with us so you don’t have to worry about getting them back to base.
